I'm so sorry Aunti Will and everyone else that I cannot make it to the service to be with you and comfort you. Uncle Elvin was a great guy and we had so much fun together. As a kid, I loved to come out and help with the apple orchard and to climb the big oak tree in the yard. I remember us singing that fun version of "Side by Side" with him for Uncle Willard and Auntie Maida's wedding. While he did not always enjoy my musical tastes (Grunge was never his cup of tea), he was always very supportive and encouraging. He will be deeply missed.

I would like to send condolences to Wilma and family for the loss a very good college friend. I had the privilege of singing with Elvin at Canadian Nazarene College in Red Deer along with Dave Raine and Joanne Munro with Eve Wiens as accompanist in 1961. We lost touch but never forgotten is a Thanksgiving diner at his parents home where he and I shot pigeons for diner as his parents had gone to his sister's place for diner. A wonderful caring soul. I am certain he will be a great addition to that Heavenly choir.

Elvin was always so kind and meek in my opinion and as it says in Matthew 5:5, “Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth”! It does my heart good to know without a doubt that Elvin has gone to be with the Lord, may God spread his love and peace on all who grieve know this! Matthew 5:4 says “Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted”, I pray that you feel God’s comfort, amen!

So sad to hear of Elvin's passing. I loved to hear him sing, and was delighted when he asked me to join him on several occasions. He was a kind and gentle man and he will be missed in this community. My sincerest condolences to Wilma and the rest of the family.
