Obituary of Raymond Edward Destobel

Raymond (Ray) Edward Destobel passed away peacefully on July 7, 2023, in Creston, BC, at the age of 100 years.

Ray was born on November 25, 1922, to parents Jane and Alphonse Destobel in Coleman, AB. He married the love of his life, Thelma (nee Murphy), on March 4, 1944. Ray is a WWII veteran, serving 31 years of his military career in the Canadian Air Force. Ray and Thelma semi-retired to Creston 50 years ago. Ray was an avid fisherman, member of the Creston Curling Club, and loved his small hobby orchard.

Ray was predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Jane, and siblings Louis, Irene, and Elsie.

Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife Thelma, daughters Elaine, Shirley, and Linda, grandchildren Kimberly, Brent, Lisa, Coralee, and Samantha, great grandchildren Bailey, Paige, Evan, Hannah, Ryan, Kye, Gemma, and Talas, as well as his great great grandchildren Claire, Lincoln, Riley, and Cameron.

There is no Celebration of Life Service to be held at this time. A Private Family Graveside Service will take place at a later date in Coleman, AB.
