Obituary of Annette Hambler-Pruden
Please share a memory of Annette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Iris Annette Hambler Pruden at the Creston Valley Hospital on December 16, 2022, at the age of 75 years.
Annette was born on November 14, 1947, raised, and spent most of her life in Creston.
Annette worked as a secretary for BCANSI (BC Association of Non-Status Indians); secretary for the Fish & Wildlife Branch; education coordinator for the Lower Kootenay Band; cook for Guiding Outfit; School District Chair and Trustee for School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake).
Annette also loved to travel. Her travels have taken her across a good portion of Canada, throughout the United States and even to England and Scotland.
With her declining health and mobility issues over the last couple years, Annette found great strength and comfort in her relationship with God. With today’s technology, it was a blessing that she could continue to meet in fellowship each week.
Annette was predeceased by her father Jack Van De Riet, husband Pat Hambler in 2006, husband Joe Pruden in 2012, grandsons Cody Taylor, Kyle Robert, Jesse Markwart, and Dustin Robert, and great grandson Justin Trudel.
Annette will be lovingly remembered by her mother Iris Mortimer, stepfather Bill ‘Davis’ Potts, sisters Maureen Mineault and Starr Potts, daughters Donna (Tim) Cassel, Cherie (Shane) Oakman, and Candace Robert, sons Shawn Hambler and Jody Hambler, 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, aunt Lola Evans, uncle Melvin ‘Pat’ Mortimer, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Upper Hall of the Rotacrest Hall. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.
