Obituary of Garry Ray Wallace

Garry Ray “Wally” Wallace passed away peacefully on March 15, 2021 in Creston, BC at the age of 79 years.
Garry was born on February 11, 1942, in Bluefield, Virginia to parents Mabel and George Wallace. His childhood was filled with outdoor wanderings and critter collecting. Garry was a lifelong learner, earning Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Biology and then later on in life, another Master’s and Specialist degree in Education.
From 1973 to 1984 Garry spent his time in the Creston Valley, raising a family and growing strawberries, among other jobs. He then moved to Alberta and became the Administrator of private schools until an early retirement brought him back to Creston. In 2017 an automobile accident incapacitated Garry and he spent his last three plus years at Swan Valley Lodge, under the care of their loving staff and with visits by the good people of the Creston Seventh-Day Adventist Church, among others.
Garry will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Gina Peterson and June Engel, son Martin Wallace, daughters Shelley Wallace and Wendy Siapco, six grandchildren, estranged wife Karen, as well as many other family members.
Garry was predeceased by his father George “Buck” Wallace, mother Mabel Farley Wallace, brother Leonard “Bunk” Wallace, and sisters Joyce Bahnmiller and Juanita Madche.
Garry will be remembered for his wit, humor, story-telling and beautiful singing voice.
There is no Celebration of Life Service at this time due to travel restrictions.
