Obituary of Douglas Clare Macdonald

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Clare Macdonald on March 2, 2022, at Creston, BC at the age of 92 years.
Doug was born August 16, 1929, at Edmonton, AB and moved to Regina the same year. He loved to play hockey, he played all his minor hockey in Regina, junior hockey with Humboldt and two years with the Regina Pats, senior hockey with Kimberley Dynamiters, two years professionally with Earls Court Rangers in London, England, and back to Kimberley, BC to play for part of one season with the Dynamiters. Doug worked with Cominco for four years, B.C. Tel for 27 years, and retired on his 55th birthday. Doug liked to keep himself busy with curling, winning six zone titles with the Bisgrove rink, managing the Kimberley Dynamos and Dynamiters, executive of the golf club, ski club, curling club and a member of the Elks and Legion. Doug loved the bush and spent a lot of his time at his cabin in Flathead Valley and after his retirement, spent his winters in Apache Junction, AZ.
Doug is predeceased by his mother Mildred and Father Ted.
Doug is survived by his loving wife Debbie, stepdaughter Michelle Manchulenko, daughters Karen Craige and Gail Kopp, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
At Doug’s request, there will be no Celebration of Life Service.
