Obituary of Susan Mary Hills (nee Kelly)
Please share a memory of Susan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
“I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more…”
Susan Mary Hills (nee Kelly) passed away on January 16, 2022, in Creston, BC at the age of 71 years.
Susan was born on July 13, 1950, in Bacup, Lancashire, England, one of five children born to Patrick and Mary Kelly.
After marrying Larry Hills in England in 1970, Susan made Canada her home and welcomed Kelly, Larry Jr. (Rebecca) and Clark (Lori).
Susan lived for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She spent many days cheering on the sidelines at every sporting event that her crew participated in; baseball, basketball, volleyball, dance, figure skating, and even synchronized swimming, she was there for it all!
Susan had a passion for music and was always enthusiastically rocking out (even to Metallica) at all of her son Larry and grandson’s Parker, Brandon, Matthew, and Kade’s performances. She enjoyed all genres of music although her most requested song for Larry Jr. to sing was “I’m Gonna Be” by the Proclaimers.
There was never a woman that was as accepting of anyone and their person choices as Susan. “You do you, and I’ll do me.”
Susan had unconditional love for all and a heart big enough for everyone that came into her life. The ones that she knew from birth and all of the bonus people that came into her life. She loved them all! Joel, Sesame, Celina, Samantha, Arin, Jordan, Marcel, Ophelia, Lila, Odin, Charlie, and Seth. Trisha, Shelby, Taylor, Hailyn, Parker, Casey, Renata, Raine, Tennessee, Larry Jr., Rebecca, Brandon, Matthew, Kade, Clark, Lori, Kelly, Dania, and Dex.
Until we meet again Mum, grandma, Suzie Q…
