OBITUARY OF CHAD ALLAN SPEAKER

February 7, 1985 – March 14, 2021

Chad Speaker of Calgary, Alberta, tragically passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the age of 36 years, near Grande Cache, Alberta.

Chad was born in Creston, BC. He lived with his family in Creston, Kimberley, Prince Rupert, and Elkford, BC before he moved to Alberta in 2007. He worked out of Red Deer until 2012. He then spent a year in Victoria, BC and returned to Red Deer in 2013, before settling in Calgary in 2014.

After declaring that he hated food at the age of five, Chad became an amazing foodie, creating spectacular meals for his partner Ashlyn, texting pictures of his creations to his mom. He enjoyed making people laugh through his jokes, story telling and funny faces, and he would argue for arguing sake with his brother Eric. Chad had a strong, loving relationship with his animals.

Chad’s most ideal vacation was visiting family. He loved spending time with his loved ones, telling stories and jokes, and making new memories.

Chad is survived by his loving partner Ashlyn Wiebe of Calgary, AB. He is also survived by his brother Eric Speaker (Justine Greenall) of Kimberley, BC, his father Christopher Speaker (Joanne) of Creston, BC, his mother Corien Becker (Mark Smith) of Maple Ridge, BC, his grandmother Ardeth Speaker of Creston, BC, his grandparents, Myron and Lynn Becker of Creston, BC; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Chad was predeceased by his grandfather Dale Speaker of Creston, BC.

Chad had a kind and caring soul. He loved making people smile and doing kind things for others. He gave the most comforting hugs known as the “Chad hug.” There are no words to capture how greatly Chad will be missed. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please cherish your time with your loved ones and pass on the “Chad hug.”
