Obituary of Thomas Lenko

Thomas (Tom/Tommy) Lenko passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023, in Creston, BC, at the age of 93 years.

Tom was born on January 19, 1930, in Smoky Lake, BC to parents Sanda and Bill Lenko.  He received a lifetime member award for Operating Engineers, Union Local 115. Tom worked most his life as a bulldozer operator and part-time farmer. In his spare time Tom enjoyed repairing vehicles and small engines, fishing, gardening, building puzzles, playing cards, and getting taken by the casinos (Tom’s words). Tom’s door was always open for visits and a “cool one” with friends and family.

Tom was predeceased by his loving wife Evelyn, son Michael, parents Bill and Sanda, brothers Roy, Alex, Andy (Elva), Art, Victor (Karen), sisters Pearl (Pete), Helen (Gordon), and Victoria (Burt), and nephew Peter Roy.

Tom will be lovingly remembered by his brother Wally (Lena), sister-in-law Marge, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday March 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Creston Valley Seniors Association Hall, with Pastor Tom Greentree officiating.  Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.
