Obituary of Lucille Ida Stephenson

Please share a memory of Lucille to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucille (Lucy) Ida Stephenson (nee Ratke) on November 14, 2022, in Creston, BC at the age of 75 years.

Lucy was born on November 3, 1947, in Edmonton, AB to parents William and Ida Ratke.

Lucy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Doug Stephenson, children Jennifer (Jim) Fleck, Wade Stephenson, and Craig (Sherrie) Stephenson, grandchildren Tiffany, Nicole, Chayton and Kyla and great grandchildren Charlie, Harry, John, and Lucas.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the BC Cancer Foundation, 150 – 686 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1G1.

If Roses Grow in Heaven

If Roses grow in Heaven,

Lord please pick a bunch for me.

Place them in Lucy’s arms

and tell her they’re from me.

Tell her I love her and miss her,

and when she turns to smile,

place a kiss upon her cheek and hold

her for a while.

Because remembering her is easy,

I do it every day,

But there’s an ache within my heart

that will never go away.
