As a young Corporal in Cold Lake, Roger was the first Warrant Officer I worked for starting out in my military career. He held his military staff to a high standard, but he always had great compassion for people. He had an amazing sense of humour, and every morning started off with a coffee and a good laugh. As my career progressed, I always considered Roger as a mentor for his compassion and empathy for people. Condolences to you Barb and family.
May the fishing always be good my friend.

It is with sadness that we heard of the passing of Roger. We have fond memories of the time that Cecile and I spent with you both in Yellowknife. Roger was a good man and I really enjoyed working with him. Yes, the toothpick in his mouth was his trademark. Roger still probably holds the record for the biggest fish caught at 440 Sqn Detachment. Our sincere condolences to you and your family Barb. Our thoughts are with you all in these difficult times. We send you big hugs and love. Cecile and Norm Daigle

A great visit with Roger and Barb in Creston where Roger got to meet my wife Victoria, daughter Elliana and see my Brother James again. James and Chris (his son) were childhood friends...

I knew 'Roger Dodger' for most of my life as he and my father Bill were insperable during the years we lived in CFB Cold Lake. I grew to love him as an Uncle who I will always remember with fondness and respect. He was a quiet man who commanded respect by his actions and unwavering loyalty to his family.
His wife Barb and my Mom Claire where great friends who spent many a night playing rummoli in our dining room in Cold Lake.
Both Roger and my father Bill were die-hard fisherman and hunters, they went on many hunting and fishing trips together. Roger and Barb came to my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration many years agao and I can still remember the smile that my Father had on his face because Roger had came to help celebrate his 50th Anniversary.
Truly an amazing man, father, husband and 'Uncle' who had a dry sense of humour, loved sitting on his back porch in Creston and enjoyed visiting people. Always accomodating and truly a very special human being.
We'll miss you Roger, I hope you and Bill get to see each other again and share some hunting and fishing stories...
Mike, Victoria, Elliana and my Brother James (I hope you get to see him and Mom as well)
